Simple Christmas (Part 4) - Wonder Over Worry (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Pastor Danny wraps up our Simple Christmas series by drawing our attention to the wonder of Christ coming to earth.  If you are worried or experiencing anxiety in your life, this message will be a breath of fresh air.  God bless!

Matthew 6:25 (NLT) – “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?”

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow.  It empties today of its strength.” – Corrie Ten Boom

Isaiah 7:14b (NLT) – Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).

Philippians 4:6-7 (MSG) – 6 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. 7 Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Deuteronomy 7:9a (MSG) – Know this: God, your God, is God indeed, a God you can depend upon.

Romans 8:31b (NLT) – If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Matthew 19:26 (ESV) – “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT) – 31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Simple Christmas (Part 3) - Hope Over Hurt (Pastor Jamie Schulz)

Often times, the most beautiful time of the year serves as a reminder of the disappointment, loss, or struggle in our lives. Pastor Jamie talks about how we can set the stage for hope in our lives and experience Jesus in the midst of our pain.

Jeremiah 29:11 (VOICE) – “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Eternal, “plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope—never forget that.”

Matthew 12:17-21 (NLT) – 17 This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him: 18 “Look at my Servant, whom I have chosen. He is my Beloved, who pleases me. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. 19 He will not fight or shout or raise his voice in public. 20 He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally he will cause justice to be victorious. 21 And his name will be the hope of all the world.”

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NLT) – 1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. 2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. 3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

Luke 1:46-48 (NLT) – 46 Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. 47 How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! 48 For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed.

Hebrews 6:18b-19a (NLT) – 18 Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.

Psalm 27:13-14 (NLT) – 13 Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. 14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

Luke 2:8-20 (NLT) – 8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” 15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, 19 but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. 20 The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.

Simple Christmas (Part 2) - Generosity Over Greed (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In this message, Pastor Danny takes a look at one of the biggest stress points at Christmas - our money.  What would our holidays look like if they were marked more by giving than receiving? Listen in to find out!

Proverbs 27:20b (NKJV) – The eyes of man are never satisfied.

Mark 6:37 (NKJV) – But He answered and said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”

Matthew 6:21 (NKJV) – For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 21:1-4 (NLT) – 1 While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box. 2 Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins. 3 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. 4 For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.”

Acts 20:35b (NLT) – “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-11 (NLT) – 6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” 10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.

Come Together (Part 3) - Serve One Another (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In Part 3 of our Come Together Series, Pastor Danny talks about serving one another and how we can really transform our homes, workplaces, churches and cities if we take up Jesus’ posture as a servant.  If you want to be great in the kingdom, listen in!

1 John 4:7-12 (VOICE) – 7 My loved ones, let us devote ourselves to loving one another. Love comes straight from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and truly knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 Because of this, the love of God is a reality among us: God sent His only Son into the world so that we could find true life through Him. 10 This is the embodiment of true love: not that we have loved God first, but that He loved us and sent His unique Son on a special mission to become an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 So, my loved ones, if God loved us so sacrificially, surely we should love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God with human eyes; but if we love one another, God truly lives in us. Consequently God’s love has accomplished its mission among us.

Mark 10:42-45 (NLT) – 42 So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:26b (NIV) – But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,

1 Peter 4:10 (NLT) – God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT) – 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

Galatians 5:13 (ESV) – For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Hebrews 10:24 (NLT) – Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

1 Corinthians 9:19 (ESV) – For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them.

Romans 12:1 (ESV) – I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT) – 23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:5b (NLT) – We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.

Come Together (Part 2) - Enjoy One Another (Pastor Jamie Schulz)

God designed us to enjoy relationships. While that seems like a great idea, it can be harder to accomplish than we like. In this message, Pastor Jamie talks about 5 keys that will help you to enjoy the relationships in your life more.

Zephaniah 3:17 (AMP) – The Lord your God is in your midst, A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.

Hebrews 12:2a (NASB) – …fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross,…

1 John 4:11-12a (VOICE) – 11 So, my loved ones, if God loved us so sacrificially, surely we should love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God with human eyes; but if we love one another, God truly lives in us.

Romans 8:28 (NASB) – And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

John 14:26 (NASB) – “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”

Galatians 6:7 (NASB) – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

Proverbs 14:1 (NASB) – The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish tears it down with her own hands.

Matthew 18:21-22 (NASB) – 21 Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times? 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Proverbs 29:23 (NASB) – A man’s pride will bring him low, but a humble spirit will obtain honor.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NASB) – And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

Exodus 20:12 (NLT) – “Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (NLT) – 12 Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. 13 Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other.

1 Samuel 2:8a (NLT) – He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor…

1 Peter 2:17a (NKJV) – Honor all people…

Matthew 5:46a (NLT) – If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that?

Philippians 2:2 (NLT) – Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Romans 12:10 (ESV) – Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Jesus Is (Part 7) - Real Love (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In the final message of this series, Pastor Danny shares about Jesus’ great love for us.  Jesus is the very definition of love.  And He displayed this love through his perfect life and death on the cross.  There is no love that can compare with the love of Jesus.  We pray that you experience His love for you today!

1 Corinthians 2:1-2 (MSSG) - 1 You’ll remember, friends, that when I first came to you to let you in on God’s master stroke, I didn’t try to impress you with polished speeches and the latest philosophy. 2 I deliberately kept it plain and simple: first Jesus and who he is; then Jesus and what he did—Jesus crucified.

John 3:16 (NKJV) – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8 (NKJV) – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) – I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh ÿÿI live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Ephesians 5:2 (NKJV) – And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

1 John 3:16 (NKJV) – By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

John 6:51a (NKJV) – I am the living bread which came down from heaven.

John 10:30-33 (NKJV) – 30 “I and My Father are one.” 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” 33 The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”

John 8:46a (NKJV) – Which of you convicts Me of sin?

Mark 2:5 (NKJV) – When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

John 14:6 (NKJV) – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Romans 6:23a (NKJV) – For the wages of sin is death,…

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) – For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 12:1 (NIV) – Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Jesus Is (Part 6) - Coming Again (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In this message, Pastor Danny talks about Jesus’ promise to return for His church.  People have different experiences and emotions concerning the end times - not all of them good.  This message is filled with hope and encouragement for you as you serve God and look forward to His promise to come back for us.

Acts 1:9-11 (ESV) – 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Matthew 24:3 (NLT) – Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?”

Matthew 24:40-42 (NLT) – 40 “Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. 42 “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 (NLT) – For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.

John 14:3 (NLT) – When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NLT) – 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

Matthew 25:34 (NLT) – “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.’

Revelation 20:11-13 (NLT) – 11 And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-7a (NLT) – 6 In his justice he will pay back those who persecute you. 7 And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven.

2 Thessalonians 1:7b-9 (NLT) – 7 He will come with his mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.

Titus 2:13 (NLT) – while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.

2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLT) – So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Jesus Is (Part 5) - Your King (Pastor Jamie Schulz)

Pastor Jamie gives us a look at Jesus' role as king and how that affects our everyday lives. Find out how relating to Jesus as King will change the way you receive his love and live out purpose for your life.

Matthew 2:2 (NLT) – “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”

John 18:33-36 (NLT) – 33 Then Pilate went back into his headquarters and called for Jesus to be brought to him. “Are you the king of the Jews?” he asked him. 34 Jesus replied, “Is this your own question, or did others tell you about me?” 35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate retorted. “Your own people and their leading priests brought you to me for trial. Why? What have you done?” 36 Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.”

Matthew 27:27-29 (NLT) – 27 Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. 29 They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!”

Matthew 27:35-37 (NLT) – 35 After they had nailed him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice. 36 Then they sat around and kept guard as he hung there. 37 A sign was fastened above Jesus’ head, announcing the charge against him. It read: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.

Luke 22:14-18 () – 14 When the time came, Jesus and the apostles sat down together at the table. 15 Jesus said, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. 16 For I tell you now that I won’t eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.” 17 Then he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves. 18 For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.”

Psalms 34:8 (GNT) – Find out for yourself how good the Lord is. Happy are those who find safety with him.

Matthew 19:16-17 (NAS) – 16 And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?” 17 And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

James 1:17 (NAS) – Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NLT) – Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT) – 22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

Psalm 33:4-5 (NLT) – 4 For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. 5 He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.

Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (NLT) – 3 I will proclaim the name of the Lord; how glorious is our God! 4 He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!

Jesus Is (Part 4) - My Shepherd (Pastor Danny Schulz)

One of the most famous passages of Scripture is Psalms 23. Pastor Danny leads us through it this week as we look at how Jesus is our shepherd and why we can find peace in relationship with Him.

John 10:11 (NLT) - “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.”

Psalm 100:3b (NLT) - We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

1 Peter 5:2-4 (ESV) - 2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

Psalm 23 (NKJV) - 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

Phil 4:19 (NLT) - And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

John 14:27 (ESV) - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 10:3-5 (NLT) - 3 “The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. 5 They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.”

2 Timothy 4:16-17 (NLT) - 16 The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them. 17 But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (NLT) - 20 Now may the God of peace— who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood— 21 may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

John 10:14 (NLT) - “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me,”

Jesus Is (Part 3) - The Miracle Worker (Pastor Danny Schulz)

This week, Pastor Danny explores Jesus’ miracle working ministry. It’s easy to get excited about miracles but often times they seem out of reach or like they must be for someone else. This message will inspire you to believe for God’s miraculous power to impact your life.

John 2:1-3 (NLT) - 1 The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.”

2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV) - for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Isaiah 30:15-18 (NLT) - 15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it. 16 You said, ‘No, we will get our help from Egypt. They will give us swift horses for riding into battle.’ But the only swiftness you are going to see is the swiftness of your enemies chasing you! 17 One of them will chase a thousand of you. Five of them will make all of you flee. You will be left like a lonely flagpole on a hill or a tattered banner on a distant mountaintop.” 18 So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) - For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

John 2:5 (NLT) - But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT) - 8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. 9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

John 2:6a (NLT) - Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing.

1 Peter 1:6-7 (NLT) - 6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

John 2:8 (NLT) - he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.

Mark 10:27 (NLT) - Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”

Jesus Is (Part 2) - Our Teacher (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Jesus was the greatest teacher of all time.  But what was it that made him so effective? Listen as Pastor Danny looks at Jesus’ teaching ministry and unpack some of his most helpful lessons.

Luke 4:15 (NLT) - He taught regularly in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.

Matthew 7:28-29 (NLT) - 28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law.

Ephesians 5:1 (MSSG) - Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents.

John 13:15 (NLT) - I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.

Matthew 4:1-3 (NLT) - 1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. 2 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry. 3 During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”

Matthew 4:4b (NLT) - “People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

Matthew 4:7 (NLT) - Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’ ”

Matthew 4:10b (NLT) - “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’ ”

Matthew 9:27-29 (ESV) - 27 And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.” 28 When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.”

Hebrews 11:6a (NKJV) - But without faith it is impossible to please Him…

1 Peter 2:21 (NLT) - For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.

Luke 9:23 (ESV) - And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

John 8:10-11 (NLT) - 10 Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” 11 “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

Luke 23:34a (NLT) - Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”

Matthew 6:14 (NLT) - “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.”

Jesus Is (Part 1) - My Best Friend (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In this first message of our new series, Pastor Danny helps us understand why Jesus is qualified to be our best friend. Listen in and discover why he is called Immanuel, "God with us."

Matthew 1:21 (NLT) - “And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:23 (NLT) - “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’ ”

John 1:14 (ESV) - And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 2:17-18 (MSSG) - 17 That’s why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins, 18 he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing—and would be able to help where help was needed.

Mark 6:3a (NLT) - “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.”

Mark 3:21 (NLT) - When his family heard what was happening, they tried to take him away. “He’s out of his mind,” they said.

Hebrews 4:15 (NLT) - This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

Isaiah 53:5 (NLT) - But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.

John 15:15 (NLT) - I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

1 Timothy 2:5 (ESV) - For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:15-16 (MSSG) - 15 We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. 16 So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.

Making Room (Part 5) - Room for Relationships (Pastor Danny Schulz)

We have been designed for relationships. In this message, Pastor Danny casts vision for why we need to make room for relationships and the importance they play in our lives.

Ecclesiastes 4:8 (NLT) - This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself, “Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now?” It is all so meaningless and depressing.

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.’” - CS Lewis

1 Peter 4:7-8 (NLT) - 7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. 8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

Colossians 2:19b (NLT) - For he holds the whole body together with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes it.

Romans 12:17-18 (NLT) - 17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

Proverbs 13:20 (NLT) - Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

Hebrews 10:25 (NLT) - And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Making Room (Part 4) - Room for People (Pastor Jamie Schulz)

Jesus always seemed to make time for people. This week, Pastor Jamie talks about what it looks like to follow in His footsteps and make room for people in our lives.

Luke 9:51-56 (ESV) - 51 When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. 52 And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him. 53 But the people did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. 54 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” 55 But he turned and rebuked them. 56 And they went on to another village.

Matthew 14:15-16 (ESV) - 15 Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” 16 But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.”

John 4:39-42 (ESV) - 39 Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his word. 42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

John 4:31-38 (ESV) - 31 Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.” 33 So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?” 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 36 Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. 37 For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

2 Peter 1:16 (ESV) - For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

2 Thessalonians 1:3 (ESV) - We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.

Making Room (Part 3) - Room to Serve (Pastor Danny Schulz)

God wants something FOR us, not something FROM us. That's the premise of this message by Pastor Danny on why we should make room for serving in our lives. Have a listen and be inspired!

1 Cor 12:27 (NLT) - All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

Matthew 16:18 (ESV) - And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Hebrews 12:2 (NLT) - We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Ephesians 2:10 (ESV) - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Philippians 3:10-11 (NLT) - 10 I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

Making Room (Part 2) - Room for Generosity (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Listen in as Pastor Danny talks about making room in our finances. Learn how to leave the crowded life behind and make room for significance.

Acts 20:35b (NLT) - “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Psalm 24:1a (NLT) - The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.

Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV) - And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Matthew 6:19-21 (NLT) - 19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”

Make Room in your financial life and pray about investing in Sun City Church.  Ask what God would have you give.

Pray - God, what do you want me to do?  And do whatever he says.

If you haven’t began the journey of being a giver - don’t let this be a day where you feel guilty.  Just start!  It’s not about how wealthy you are or how much you can give.  It’s about relationship with God and doing whatever He says.

Maybe you need to make this the month where you begin to take God up on His promises and begin to tithe 10% of your income.  He owns it all!

But I’m asking all of us to prepare something to give this week.  It’s a special offering to make room for the people that God wants to reach in the fall.

Making Room (Part 1) - Room for Prayer (Pastor Danny Schulz)

The danger of living a "crowded life" is that the urgent often robs us from the important. Listen in as Pastor Danny talks about making room for what matter most in life.

Psalm 18:19 (NIV) - He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

Psalm 31:8 (ESV) - and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place.

Job 36:16 (NIV) - He is wooing you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place free from restriction, to the comfort of your table laden with choice food.

Matthew 18:19-20 (MSG) - 19 “When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. 20 And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”

“Praying saints are God’s agents for carrying on His saving and providential work on earth. If His agents fail Him, neglecting to pray, then His work fails. Praying agents of the Most High are always forerunners of spiritual prosperity.” - EM Bounds

Acts 1:14a (NLT) - They all met together and were constantly united in prayer…

Acts 3:1 (NLT) - Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service.

Acts 6:4 (NLT) - Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.

Acts 10:9 (ESV) - The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray.

Acts 10:31 (NLT) - He told me, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God!

Acts 12:5 (NKJV) - Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.

“Bold prayers honor God, and God honors bold prayers. God isn’t offended by your biggest dreams or boldest prayers. He is offended by anything less. If your prayers aren’t impossible to you, they are insulting to God.” - Mark Batterson

Soul Detox (Part 4) - The Seduced Soul (Pastor Jamie Schulz)

Have you ever done something that you didn't realize was dangerous until afterward? That is exactly what we are talking about in this final message of the Soul Detox series. Listen in as Pastor Jamie talks about the Seduced Soul.

Exodus 20:3-4 (NLT) - 3 “You must not have any other god but me. 4 You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.”

Deuteronomy 4:16-19 (NLT) - 16 So do not corrupt yourselves by making an idol in any form—whether of a man or a woman, 17 an animal on the ground, a bird in the sky, 18 a small animal that scurries along the ground, or a fish in the deepest sea. 19 And when you look up into the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars—all the forces of heaven—don’t be seduced into worshiping them. Soul Detox (Part 3) - The Tortured Soul (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In this message, Pastor Danny invites us to unburden our souls of sin. Instead of letting it fester and torture your soul, learn how to bring your sin into the light and move past shame and guilt into freedom.

Romans 7:15 (NLT) - I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.

1 Peter 2:11 (NIV) - Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.

Psalm 38:3-4 (NLT) - 3 Because of your anger, my whole body is sick; my health is broken because of my sins. 4 My guilt overwhelms me - it is a burden too heavy to bear.

John 8:44b (NLT) - He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Proverbs 28:13 (NLT) - People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.

1 John 1:9 (ESV) - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

James 5:16a (ESV) - Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) - No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Peter 2:24-25 (ESV) - 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Lamentations 3:19-20 (NIV) - 19 I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. 20 I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me.

Job 4:5 (NIV) - But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged; it strikes you, and you are dismayed.

Mark 14:33-34a (NLT) - 33 He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he became deeply troubled and distressed. 34 He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death”…

Lamentations 3:19-23 - (NIV) 19 I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. 20 I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. 21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Psalm 142:2-3a (NLT) - 2 I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles. 3 When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn.

2 Chronicles 32:7-8a (ESV) - 7 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him. 8 With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.”

Romans 8:28 (NLT) - And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Soul Detox (Part 1) - The Restless Soul (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Have you ever felt like something is getting in the way of becoming the person God intended you to be?  In Soul Detox, we'll be exploring how we can neutralize these damaging influences and embrace clean living.  Join us this Sunday for this impacting series.

Genesis 2:7 (KJV) - And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 4:11-12 (NIV) - 11 “Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

Ecclesiastes 2:22-23 (NIV) - 22 What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun? 23 All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

Psalm 62:1 (NIV) - Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV) - 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Psalm 46:10a (ESV) - “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Psalm 131:2 (ESV) - But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Psalm 37:7a (NIV) - Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;

Psalm 130:5-6 (ESV) - 5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; 6 my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.

Psalm 116:7-8 (ESV) - 7 Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. 8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling;

Change Your World (Part 5) - The Importance of Doing Good (Pastor Danny Schulz)

We wrap up our Change Your World series this week as Pastor Danny casts vision for a church community that keeps it's eyes on the community we are called to serve. Be inspired to make a difference as you allow God's love for you to overflow out of your life and into someone else's.

Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT) - 14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Galatians 6:9 (ESV) - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

James 4:17 (ESV) - So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Hebrews 10:24 (ESV) - And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

Titus 2:7a (ESV) - Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works,…

Ephesians 2:10 (ESV) - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Titus 3:14 (ESV) - And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.

Isaiah 1:17 (ESV) - Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.

Matthew 25:31-46 (NLT) - 31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. 42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’
44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’
45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

Change Your World (Part 4) - One Life at a Time (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Pastor Danny talks about common obstacles to sharing our faith and how to overcome them. Learn how you can be a part of God's plan to tell the world about His love and redemption in this next message of the Change Your World series.

Mark 1:17 (ESV) - And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

Mark 16:15 (NCV) - Jesus said to his followers, “Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone.”

Acts 1:8a (NLT) - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…

2 Timothy 4:2a,5b (NLT) - 2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not…  5 Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

Romans 10:14-15 (NLT) - 14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) - So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

1 Corinthians 3:6 (TLB) - My work was to plant the seed in your hearts, and Apollos’ work was to water it, but it was God, not we, who made the garden grow in your hearts.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (NLT) - 19 Even though I am a free man with no master, I have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ. 20 When I was with the Jews, I lived like a Jew to bring the Jews to Christ. When I was with those who follow the Jewish law, I too lived under that law. Even though I am not subject to the law, I did this so I could bring to Christ those who are under the law. 21 When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ. 22 When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. 23 I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.

Change Your World (Part 3) - The Most Excellent Way (Pastor Danny Schulz)

This week Pastor Danny talks about the shortage of love in the world and the opportunity we have, as Christ followers, to make a difference. Learn how to be someone who always has enough love to give away to your world.

1 Corinthians 12:31b (NIV) - And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

1 Corinthians 12:31b (NLT) - But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.

Matthew 24:12 (NKJV) - And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Ephesians 3:14-19 (NKJV) - 14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Romans 5:8 (NKJV) - But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16 (NKJV) - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1 John 3:16 (NKJV) - By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Romans 12:1 (NIV) - Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Ps 63:3 (NIV) - Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

2 Corinthians 5:14 (NIV) - For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.

Change Your World (Part 2) - My Sphere of Influence (Pastor Danny Schulz)

This week Pastor Danny shares about how to make a difference in your sphere of influence for Christ. Your people, your place, and your passion can become the vehicles through which God ministers to your world. Have a listen!

Acts 16:25-31 (NLT) - 25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! 27 The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself. 28 But Paul shouted to him, “Stop! Don’t kill yourself! We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”

Mark 5:19b (MSG) - “Go home to your own people. Tell them your story—what the Master did, how he had mercy on you.”

Psalms 90:17a (NKJV) - And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us,
And establish the work of our hands for us;

Psalms 37:4 (ESV) - Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Colossians 4:5-6 (NLT) - 5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (NLT) - 11 Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. 12 Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

Psalms 37:23 (NLT) - The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

Proverbs 16:9 (NLT) - We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.

1 Peter 3:15b (MSG) - Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (NLT) - 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Change Your World (Part 1) - Can We Change The World? (Pastor Danny Schulz)

2 Corinthians 10:13; 15b-16a (ESV) - 13 But we will not boast beyond limits, but will boast only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you… 15b But our hope is that as your faith increases, our area of influence among you may be greatly enlarged, 16 so that we may preach the gospel in lands beyond you…

Luke 12:48b (ESV) - …to whom much was given, of him much will be required…

Matthew 5:13a (MSG) - “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth.”

Matthew 5:16 (CEV) - Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

Ephesians 2:10 (ESV) - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10b (MSG) - He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

2 Samuel 23:11-12 (NLT) - 11 Next in rank was Shammah son of Agee from Harar. One time the Philistines gathered at Lehi and attacked the Israelites in a field full of lentils. The Israelite army fled, 12 but Shammah held his ground in the middle of the field and beat back the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory.

Authentic Church (Part 3) - Authentic Growth (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Pastor Danny wraps up the final message in our series on Authentic Church. He casts vision for the growth you can expect in your life as you move out of rows and into circles in the context of small groups. Listen in on this powerful message about the impact a small group can make in your walk with God.

Acts 2:42-47 (ESV) - 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Acts 2:38a (ESV) - And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins..."

Authentic Church (Part 2) - Authentic Love (Pastor Jamie Schulz)

In this second sermon of the series, Pastor Jamie talks about what authentic love is and how it is important to creating Authentic Church. Listen in and be inspired to become a part of what God is doing through your local church.

Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT) - 37 Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Acts 2:42-47 (NLT) - 42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord's Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity- 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Proverbs 14:4 (NLT) - Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NLT) - 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Colossians 4:6 (NLT) - Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

Romans 5:8 (NLT) - God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT) - 22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

1 John 4:20-21 (ESV) - 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.  21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Matthew 5:23-24 (ESV) - 23 So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

John 11:40-44 (ESV) - 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” 44 The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

John 11:25-26 (ESV) - 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

The Graverobber (Part 4) - Two Fish (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Danny shares a powerful message on the God of Multiplication as we look at the miracle of 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes feeding over 5,000 people. Have a listen to this next sermon in the Graverobber series and prepare to be inspired.

Genesis 17:2 (ESV) - ...that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.

Leviticus 26:9 (ESV) - I will turn to you and make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you.

Deuteronomy 7:13a (ESV) - He will love you, bless you, and multiply you...

John 6:1-6 (ESV) - 1 After this Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. 2 And a large crowd was following him, because they saw the signs that he was doing on the sick. 3 Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. 4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. 5 Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” 6 He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

1 Timothy 3:10 (ESV) - And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless.

Deuteronomy 8:2-3 (ESV) - 2 And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. 3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

John 6:7-9 (ESV) - 7 Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little.” 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, 9 “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?”

Psalm 24:1a (NLT) - The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it.

Luke 6:38 (ESV) - give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.

Malachi 3:10 (NLT) - Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven's Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

John 6:10-11 (ESV) - 10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. 11 Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.

John 6:12-15 (ESV) - 12 And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” 13 So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. 14 When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!” 15 Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

The Graverobber (Part 3) - The RuleBreaker (Pastor Jamie Schulz)

We are continuing our trek through the gospel of John as we look at the miracles Jesus performed and how they shape our perspective of Him. Listen in as Jamie talks about The RuleBreaker in this next sermon of the series.

John 14:12a (NIV) - Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.

John 5:1-9a (NIV) - 1 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” 7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” 8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

Luke 1:37 (NLT) - Nothing is impossible with God.

John 5:10b (ESV) - It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.

The Graverobber (Part 2) - The 7th Hour (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Pastor Danny talks about being in the right place at the right time and discovering the good works that God has prepared in advance for us to walk in. Listen in on this second sermon of the Graverobber series about the God of Longitude and Latitude.

Ephesians 2:10 (ESV) - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

John 4:46-54 (ESV) - 46 So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. 47 When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48 So Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.” 49 The official said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” 50 Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. 51 As he was going down, his servants met him and told him that his son was recovering. 52 So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” 53 The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” And he himself believed, and all his household. 54 This was now the second sign that Jesus did when he had come from Judea to Galilee.

John 15:7 (ESV) - If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Psalms 119:105 (NLT) - Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

The Graverobber (Part 1) - The WineMaker (Pastor Danny Schulz)

This is the first sermon in our new series entitled Graverobber. We are looking at some of the miracles of Jesus and letting them shape our understanding of who He is. It is causing our faith to be stretched as we believe God to do incredible things in our own lives.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) - But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

John 2:1-11 (NLT) - 1 The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Dear woman, that's not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.” 5 But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled, 8 he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. 9 When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. 10 “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” 11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

Colossians 1:16b-17 (ESV) - 16b all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Easter 2015 (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Our first Easter as a church was AMAZING!  Listen in as Pastor Danny shares an Easter message that cuts to the heart of why we celebrate this important day.

Matthew  16:13-17 (NLT) - 13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” 15 Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.

John 1:29b (NLT) - ...“Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

John 6:51 (NLT) - I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.”

John 10:30-33 (NLT) - 30 The Father and I are one.” 31 Once again the people picked up stones to kill him. 32 Jesus said, “At my Father's direction I have done many good works. For which one are you going to stone me?” 33 They replied, “We're stoning you not for any good work, but for blasphemy! You, a mere man, claim to be God.”

John 11:25-26a (NLT) - 25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. 26 Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.

John 14:9b (NLT) - Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!

John 20:1-2 (NLT) - 1 Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 2 She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!”

Luke 24:10-11 (NLT) - 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and several other women who told the apostles what had happened. 11 But the story sounded like nonsense to the men, so they didn't believe it.

John 20:3-8 (NLT) - 3 Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. 4 They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn't go in. 6 Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7 while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. 8 Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed.

Acts 3:15 (NLT) - You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. And we are witnesses of this fact!

God Needs A Donkey (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Danny gives us a different perspective on Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem in this sermon about carrying the Presence of God into the lives of our friends and family. Listen in as we celebrate Palm Sunday and prepare for Easter.

Luke 19:29-40 (NLT) - 29 As he came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead. 30 “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’ ” 32 So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. 33 And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?” 34 And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.” 35 So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on. 36 As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. 37 When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. 38 “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!” 39 But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” 40 He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!”

Zechariah 9:9 (NLT) - Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey- riding on a donkey's colt.

Isaiah 52:7a (NLT) - How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation...

I PROMISE (Part 6) - God's Promise of Fulfillment (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Danny wraps up the final message of the I Promise series with a look at where ultimate fulfillment comes from. It is an inspiring and challenging reminder to not do life alone.

Exodus 6:6-7 (NIV) - 6 "Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians."

John 10:10 (TLB) - The thief's purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

Psalms 38:4 (NLT) - My guilt overwhelms me - it is a burden too heavy to bear.

Galatians 1:10 (NLT) - Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant.

James 4:1 (NLT) - What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don't they come from the evil desires at war within you?

James 4:1a (MSG) - Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way...

Genesis 2:18a (NLT) - Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone."

Exodus 6:7a (NIV) - I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God...

2 Timothy 1:8b-9 (MSG) - 8b We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God, 9 who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all his idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it.

Acts 20:24 (NLT) - But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus-the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NLT) - Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.

I PROMISE (Part 5) - God's Promise for Redemption (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Danny teaches about God's Promise for Redemption in this powerful message about how it is never too late to pursue God's purpose for your life.

Psalms 18:35b (NIV) - ...You stoop down to make me great.

John 3:17 (MSG) - God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) - For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

1 Thessalonians 2:18 (NLT) - We wanted very much to come to you, and I, Paul, tried again and again, but Satan prevented us.

Romans 11:29 (MSG) - God's gifts and God's call are under full warranty--never canceled, never rescinded.

Romans 11:29 (NLT) - For God's gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.

Romans 12:6a (NLT) - In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well...

1 Corinthians 14:1a (ESV) - Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts...

Psalms 139:13-14 (NLT) - 13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous-how well I know it.

Ephesians 1:11-12 (MSG) - 11 It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, 12 part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

Ephesians 4:7 (NLT) - However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-12 (NLT) - 11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

1 Peter 4:10 (NLT) - God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

Hebrews 6:10 (NLT) - For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.

I PROMISE (Part 4) - God's Promise of Freedom (Pastor Danny Schulz)

We take a look at God's promise for freedom inside of this message. Have a listen and be inspired and encouraged on your journey of becoming who God has called you to be.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT) - 8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Philippians 2:12b-13 (NLT) - 12b Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Romans 7:21-25 (NLT) - 21 I have discovered this principle of life-that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. 22 I love God's law with all my heart. 23 But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? 25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God's law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

Ephesians 4:26-27 (NLT) - 26 And “don't sin by letting anger control you.” Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

Romans 8:1-2 (NLT) - 1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

Romans 8:5-6 (NLT) - 5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

1 John 1:9 (NLT) - But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

James 5:16a (NLT) - Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

Acts 2:41a (NLT) - Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day...

Acts 8:12-13a (NLT) - 12 But now the people believed Philip's message of Good News concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. As a result, many men and women were baptized. 13 Then Simon himself believed and was baptized.

I PROMISE (Part 3) - God's Promise of Salvation (Pastor Danny Schulz)

We continue to learn about the promises of God and how to grab hold of them with both hands in this third message of the I PROMISE series. Listen in as Pastor Danny talks about the Promise of Salvation.

John 8:34-35a (MSG) - 34 Jesus said, "I tell you most solemnly that anyone who chooses a life of sin is trapped in a dead-end life and is, in fact, a slave.  35 A slave is a transient, who can't come and go at will.

John 10:10 (NLT) - The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Romans 8:1-2 (NLT) - 1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NLT) - 17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. 18 And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

Mark 8:34a (MSG) - Calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, "Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You're not in the driver's seat; I am."

Romans 6:19 (NLT) - Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.

I PROMISE (Part 2) - Christ, Our Passover Lamb (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In this second message of the series, Danny teaches about how Jesus needs to be in the midst of the promises of God to us. Have a listen!

Exodus 12:26-27a (NLT) - 26 Then your children will ask, ‘What does this ceremony mean?’ 27 And you will reply, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt.

Luke 22:15-16 (NLT) - 15 Jesus said, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. 16 For I tell you now that I won't eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.”

1 Corinthians 5:7b (NLT) - ...Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

John 1:29 ( NLT) - The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"

Exodus 12:5 (NLT) - The animal you select must be a one-year-old male, either a sheep or a goat, with no defects.

1 Peter 1:18-19 (NLT) - 18 For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. 19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

Exodus 12:6a (NLT) - “Take special care of this chosen animal until the evening of the fourteenth day of this first month. Then the whole assembly of the community of Israel must slaughter their lamb..."

Isaiah 53:5 (NLT) - But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.

Exodus 12:4a ( NLT) - If a family is too small to eat a whole animal, let them share with another family in the neighborhood...

2 Corinthians 5:19 (NLT) - For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Romans 10:13-14 (NLT) - 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

I PROMISE (Part 1) - Promise Maker, Promise Keeper (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In this first message of the series, Danny talks about what a promise is, how God makes and keeps His promises to us, and how we can grab hold of those promises with both hands.

Psalms 138:2b (NLT) - I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.

2 Peter 1:4 (NLT) - And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires.

Joshua 21:45 (NLT) - Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.

Hebrews 6:17-19 (MSG) - 17 When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee-- 18 God can't break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. 19 It's an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God.

1 Chronicles 17:19 (NIV) - LORD. For the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made known all these great promises.

Psalms 27:1 (ESV) - The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

1 John 4:4b (ESV) - ...for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Romans 8:37b (ESV) - ...we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) - And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV) - ...by whose stripes you were healed.

Numbers 23:19 (NIV) - God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV) - For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

Psalms 119:140 (NIV) - Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.

Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

Titus 3:3-8a (MSG) - 3 It wasn't so long ago that we ourselves were stupid and stubborn, dupes of sin, ordered every which way by our glands, going around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back. 4 But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in, 5 he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. 6 Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. 7 God's gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there's more life to come--an eternity of life! 8 You can count on this.

All Things New - Part 4 (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In our final message of the All Things New series, Danny casts vision for the new community we are called to be part of.  The greatest advertisement for God in Spokane is the love we have for each other.  Have a listen!

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) - But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

John 13:34-35 (NLT) - 34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.  35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

John 17:23 (NLT) - I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

Hebrews 10:25a (TEV) - Let us not give up the habit of meeting together. Instead, let us encourage one another.

James 5:16a (LB) - Admit your faults one to another and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

Romans 12:10b (ESV) - Outdo one another in showing honor.

1 Peter 5:5b (ESV) - Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another,...

Colossians 3:13 (NLT) - Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

All Things New - Part 3 (Pastor Danny Schulz)

Our third message in the series is about the New Hope we find in Christ. Danny talks about how hope is anchored to our perception of what is possible. And with Christ, all things are possible.

Jeremiah 29:11 ( NLT) - "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

1 Tim 1:1 (NLT) - This letter is from Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, appointed by the command of God our Savior and Christ Jesus, who gives us hope.

Romans 15:12-13 (NLT) - 12 And in another place Isaiah said, “The heir to David's throne will come, and he will rule over the Gentiles. They will place their hope on him.”  13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 John 4:4b (ESV) - ...for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1 Corinthians 15:57 (ESV) - But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 (ESV) - He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

Philippians 1:6 (ESV) - And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Psalms 30:5 (NLT) - For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Hebrews 6:19a (NLT) - This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls...

All Things New - Part 2 (Pastor Danny Schulz)

In the second message of the All Things New series, Danny teaches about a new identity in Christ. Who you are today doesn't have to determine who you will be tomorrow, by the grace of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) - This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Isaiah 62:2 (NLT) - The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the Lord's own mouth.

Galatians 2:20 (NLT) - My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Philippians 1:21 (NLT) - For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.

Throughout this series we will be teaching on some of the core aspects of Sun City Church. Every family has their own DNA, their way of doing family dinner or game night or bedtime routines. Just the same, every church is unique in how they worship together, learn from the Bible, cultivate community, and so on. And we are excited to talk about those things and give a framework for unity so that each person can find their place on the team and feel confident to minister.
